shows a lot of age I assume the little ancestor figure was kept around long after the paddle broke. Classic long-nosed lower Sepik/lower Ramu River ancestor figure. Beautiful smooth patina. It would not have been painted since it was used in the water. Custom mounted, it is 12 inches tall. Collected in the early 1970’s and dates to way earlier than that.
