Another nice old wooden yam mask from the Abelam people. I recently obtained a group of wooden yam masks from a collector who is downsizing his collection. Most of the pieces he obtained from Michael or Greg Hamson 12 to 15 years ago. The description off the Hamson invoice states: “Unusual style Southern Abelam wood yam mask, engaging expression, good colors, circa 1950/60. Piece comes nicely mounted on custom made stand. 10.25 inches tall.”
