This wonderful figure comes from the coastal village of Watum, near the mouth of the Sepik River. I am not claiming it to be old, in fact it was collected around 2000. However, it is such a superb piece I had to offer it here. It is 24.75 inches tall but carries itself as a much bigger piece. Painted with artist-made traditional paints. Trimmed with woven shell armbands with shell rings, tooth and shell earrings, and a great shell necklace.
